Our History:

Grand Metropolitan Associates Limited (more commonly referred to as GRANDMET) is one of the leading Loss Adjusting firms operating in Nigera. It was established in 1977. At the helm is Chief Nwakibie Patrick Orakwue Egbuniwe, who having realized the dire need for good loss adjusters and claims investigation in Nigeria's fast-growing insurance industry, had worked diligently, in collaboration with other professional colleagues to establish the firm.

The company first operated from Martins Street in central Lagos, but later, due to expansion, moved to a more spacious and centrally located office at Apapa Road, Ijora, Lagos. As a result of the need to provide better services to its clients, the company embarked upon and completed its own corporate office known as and situate at "House of Gold", Oshodi/Apapa Expressway, between Cele Bus-Stop and First Bank of Nigera PLC, Okota, Lagos.

Today, apart from the Head Office at Okota, Lagos, the company has branches and representations at Warri, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Enugu, Ibadan, and Kano. There are plans to open more offices in other parts of the Federation as and when circumstances permit. With this arrangement, the company is well placed to attend to urgent instructions anywhere in the country, including those countries within the West African sub-region.

Management Profile:

The day-to-day running of the company is in the hands of Chief Executive and Managing Directory, Chief Nwakibie Patrick Egbuniwe, a Chartered Insurance Practitioner with over 35 years experience in the industry. He is a Fellow of Chartered Insurance Institute of London, Fellow Insurance Institute of Nigeria and Fellow Institute of Loss Adjusters of Nigeria. He is a founding member of the Nigeria Institute of Loss Adjusters and a two term President of the Institute. He is ably assisted by his co-founders and co-directors - Mike C. Oranye and Lawrence O. Nwokedi - both Associate Members of the Institute of Loss Adjusters of Nigeria with a wealth of experience in various aspects of loss adjusting.

Other senior personnel include, M.O. Ojewola (B.Sc.; ACII, M.Sc.), Alhaji Yusuff-Owo and C.N. Umerah in charge of Port Harcourt operations.
